Leeds Championship Show 2017

Judge – Mrs Ruth M C Martin

Although a small entry, I had one or two nice dogs to judge. One of my concerns was the excessive haw shown in some exhibits and the thickness and cleanliness of the ears. Movement in some left a lot to be desired, lack of muscletone contributed to this. However, I was very pleased with my CC winners.

1st Marshalver Moonriver - Boden
14 month dog with well balanced head, he is well constructed with a thick powerful neck leading into good layback of shoulder, very muscular and stands on short straight legs with large round feet. Correct length of body with an excellent tail and set. Could have shown a little more animation on the move.
2nd Tavirosh Stonewall - Charlesworth-Ironside
Lighter and looser in eye than first and a bit all over the place. Body well constructed with correct topline and tail set. Moved a little close behind.
Post Graduate Dog 4 Entries, Absent: 2
1st Tavirosh Stonewall - Charlesworth-Ironside
2nd Delsaux Ray Of Light - Taylor
More workmanlike than winner and not the length in body or the head. Lighter build all through, tighter in eye than winner. Moved ok.
Limit Dog 2 Entries, Absent: 0
1st Anbrook Burma Star At Brazenhill Sh.CM - Newsham
Both these dogs showed excessive haw and thick ears. Heavier built than second, but balanced outline. His neck and shoulders flowed through with a good front and rear movement, which won him this class and the RCC.
2nd Doctor Rashleigh at Ranzham - Hyman
Smaller build than the winner, balanced in profile but moved close behind and wide in front. Not the coat and condition of the winner.

An easy winner here, has all the essentials plus attitude. Large, square head of medium length with excellent expression, good length to strong powerful neck leads into well laid strong shoulder, good return of upper arm which enabled him to stride out with purpose. Good length to back, super topline which he held on the move, shown in excellent coat. Moved with drive from powerful hindquarters. Would like to see him with a tad less weight. Delighted to award him the CC and eventually BOB
2nd Wymeswold Tarte Tatin of Hajacan (Imp) - Metcalf
Well put together but his eyes are not his fortune. Good length to body straight front, moved sluggishly.
Veteran Dog No Entries
Puppy Bitch 2 Entries, Absent: 1
1st Tweedsmuir Chenoa At Windfly - Grant
Balanced head with correct expression. Good length of body with nice legs and feet, toes in slightly coming towards and needs more muscle tone all through. Best Puppy

1st Micklemess Frivolous at Ranzham - Hyman

Litter sister to winner and similar attributes

1st Mischievous Maeve With Maursett - Taylor
Smaller build to second but balanced in outline. Good length to back, correct lay of shoulder level topline, good ears and mouth. Stands on straight legs and excellent feet, moved round the ring with purpose. Pleased to award her the CC. I understand her third, congratulations
2nd Wymeswold Sabayon at Greencourt (Imp) - Pickering
Heavier all through than the winner, balanced in outline, shown in good coat.
Veteran Bitch 1 Entries, Absent: 0
1st Sh Ch Greencourt Wish In The Mist - Pickering
Classic head, heavy over the shoulders but she is a veteran. She has a correct length of neck well laid shoulder, straight front good outline. Moved well. RCC.
