Judge – Mrs Jan Linley
My thanks to all exhibitors for their entries and to the Committee for such a well organised and smooth running show, one that has always been a favourite of mine. Sadly we lose this show in 2019 and wonder if Bath, with closer proximity to motorway networks, will encourage increased entries to this end of the country. In the five years since I last judged our breed there have been considerable changes. Eyes are much healthier looking but we must be careful not to lose too much of the wonderful Clumber head. Exhibits are now much lighter in body weight and much more active for it, but lighter in body weight does not mean lighter in bone. Dentition still needs watching, and please, do take a moment or two during the week before a show to inspect ears. Temperaments, as I would expect, were perfect. | My thanks to all exhibitors for their entries and to the Committee for such a well organised and smooth running show, one that has always been a favourite of mine. One I have watched from ringside and was pleased to have the chance to go over. Masculine head with clean dark eye and dentition correct. Good front, OK for bone, tight feet, level topline into correct tailset stacked. Very good hind angulations, moved well for a puppy, good coat and presentation, well handled. I hope he will continue to improve to a bright future BP
2nd | Micklemess Making Music At Clumbadane - Rudbach |
Head finer, lighter framed and not the coat of 1, tight clean dark eye and good ear placement, level topline and tailset stacked with fair bend of stifle, movement erratic.

Slow maturing but that is not a bad thing, his coat will come and he will get there in the end of that I am certain. Old fashioned head but with good shaped dark eyes, correct dentition and ear placement. Good strait front, well off for bone with large tight round feet. Fair bend of stifle and a well muscled active lad. Level topline with correct tailset, just wish he would be less tail proud when moving, hopefully with maturity this will rectify.

Have been aware of him in the ring but he has now come into his own. Masculine head, correct dentition, clean tight dark eyes and good ear shape and placement. Good shoulders, strait front and tight feet. Correct body weight, well off for bone, level topline and correct tailset. Well muscled, good rear angulation, moved with drive, tail carried as it should be, making the ring his own. Lovely coat and presentation, at one with his handler. Pleased to award him the CC (his important third I understand) & BOB
2nd | Anbrook Moonlight - Brookshaw |
Masculine broad square head, correct scissor bite, nice clean dark eyes, well put together, would not like to see him carrying any more weight. Level topline into correct tailset, super hind angulations, moved out strongly, handled well, unlucky to meet 1 on the day RCC

This young lady has now really got it together and, she has now decided she will move! She has a lovely old type bitch head but with tight and dark eyes, correct dentition and well set ears. Good strait front, well off for bone with nice tight feet and body weight right. Strait topline and tailset when stacked and maintained on the move. Good hind angulations, well muscled, moved well, and move today she did. Well presented and handled, pleased to award her the CC

Taller young bitch and one starting to come into her own. Attractive head with nice shape dark eyes and with good ear placement. Good strait front, well off for bone, tight feet, good topline and tailset both carried level on the move. A fair bend of stifle, body carrying just the right amount of weight. Well presented, moved out well despite a minor handling problem RCC
